China launches mystery object

China's mysterious reusable spaceplane program is back in the spotlight after commercial space surveillance networks detected the release of an unidentified object from the spacecraft during its latest mission.

      The 32-second infrared video was recorded by a U.S. military platform operating over the Atlantic Ocean in 2020 and has quickly become known online as the "Floating Brain" because of the object's unusual appearance.

      According to the Department of War, the footage shows an unidentified object that investigators could not positively identify.
      The accompanying report describes the object as:
