The sixth major batch of U.S. government UFO/UAP records has just been released.

War.gov published PURSUE Release 06 on September 18, 2026, adding another large collection of UFO records, historical investigations, audio and newly released UAP videos to the government's public disclosure archive.

I've started going through the material, and there are a few things in Release 06 that immediately stand out.

14 Previously Unreleased UAP Videos

One of the biggest additions is 14 previously unreleased videos of unidentified objects.

Most were reportedly recorded by U.S. reconnaissance platforms at different locations around the world between 2022 and 2025.

That makes these particularly interesting because they aren't simply another collection of 1950s UFO reports. They represent relatively recent military or government observations.

There is an important limitation, though: much of the contextual and sensor metadata that would help independent researchers analyze the footage has been redacted or removed.

So we're getting more imagery — but not necessarily all of the information needed to determine exactly what we're looking at.

The 1952 Edward Ruppelt "Flying Saucer" Recording

This may be one of the most historically interesting items in Release 06.

The government has released an audio recording of a March 1952 presentation by Captain Edward J. Ruppelt, the Air Force officer closely associated with the early investigation of UFOs and Project Blue Book.

Ruppelt discussed the Air Force's newly reorganized UFO investigation and some of the technical methods officials planned to use to investigate sightings.

More interestingly, he discussed roughly 800 historical cases reviewed by the Air Force and said that after technical analysis, approximately 20% remained unexplained.

The Department of War has published its fifth batch of Unidentified Anomalous Phenomena (UAP) records, adding another collection of declassified documents, videos, photographs, witness testimony, and historical case files to its growing public archive.

While the latest release still stops short of confirming extraterrestrial technology, it provides additional insight into how military personnel, pilots, intelligence officials, and government investigators have documented unexplained aerial incidents over several decades.

Several additional videos have been added to the archive, showing objects observed during military operations and surveillance activities. Some footage captures unusual flight characteristics, while other videos remain officially classified as unresolved due to insufficient data.

The fifth release expands the number of firsthand accounts from trained military observers. These reports describe unusual aerial objects exhibiting flight behavior that witnesses believed did not match known aircraft or conventional technology.

The latest release of declassified UAP files has already produced one of its most talked-about videos—and it's easy to see why.

In Release 04 of the U.S. government's Presidential Unsealing and Reporting System for UAP Encounters (PURSUE), officials published a previously unreleased military video labeled:

DOW-UAP-PR116 – Unresolved UAP Report – Atlantic Ocean – 2020

The 32-second infrared video was recorded by a U.S. military platform operating over the Atlantic Ocean in 2020 and has quickly become known online as the "Floating Brain" because of the object's unusual appearance.

What Does the Official Report Say?

According to the Department of War, the footage shows an unidentified object that investigators could not positively identify.

The accompanying report describes the object as:

Approximately 12–15 feet tall
Dark maroon in color
Moving with the wind
Having an appearance similar to a large, deformed balloon

The U.S. government's latest release of Unidentified Anidentified Phenomena (UAP) records is now available, and it may be the most intriguing collection yet.

As part of the ongoing Presidential Unsealing and Reporting System for UAP Encounters (PURSUE), the Department of War has published Release 04, adding another batch of previously classified military records, videos, images, audio recordings, and investigative documents for the public to review. The fourth release became available on July 10, 2026.

What's Included in Release 04? According to the official archive, Release 04 contains:

The material comes from multiple U.S. government agencies and covers military sightings, pilot reports, historical investigations, sensor data, and other unexplained aerial incidents.

The "Floating Brain" Video Is Already Going Viral. One of the most talked-about clips from the new release shows an unusual object drifting over the Atlantic Ocean in 2020.

Online users quickly nicknamed it the "Floating Brain" because of its unusual appearance. While some observers believe it could simply be an oddly shaped balloon or cluster of balloons, others argue its appearance deserves further investigation.

Third War.gov UAP File Release: The Most Eye-Opening Discoveries So Far

The U.S. government's third release of declassified UFO and UAP records has now been published through the War.gov PURSUE disclosure initiative, adding dozens of new documents, videos, photographs, witness statements, and historical records to the growing public archive. During an interview with the show Redacted, investigative journalist Timothy Alberino stated that the recent UFO/UAP document disclosures are intentionally limited and part of an internal conflict in Washington between what he describes as a “secrecy group” and a “disclosure group.” 
According to Alberino, the most sensitive information, including recovered non-human craft and alleged alien bodies, is controlled by a rogue “breakaway civilization” operating beyond presidential and congressional oversight. He claims this hidden structure works through private aerospace contractors and Deep Underground Military Bases (DUMBs) to conceal recovered craft and biological entities, while keeping even Presidents on a strict “need-to-know” basis and blocking official investigations. 
At the same time, Hal Puthoff, a former advisor to the Advanced Aerospace Weapon System Applications Program and CIA-funded researcher, has stated that four different alien species have allegedly been recovered from crashed UFOs. 
Puthoff said: “People who have been involved in recoveries have said there are at least four types. Four separate types. Now, I have not had direct access to that, but I believe the people I talked to.” 
His former AAWSAP colleague Eric Davis later claimed that the biological entities allegedly recovered from downed UFOs included Grays, Nordics, Insectoids, and Reptilians. 
We also have retired Rear Admiral Tim Gallaudet speaking publicly about UFOs and the possibility that they are controlled by a “non-human intelligence.” 
As more whistleblowers continue to come forward, some even under oath, questions remain about how credible these claims truly are. Skeptics point out that extraordinary claims require extraordinary evidence, while others argue that over the years several individuals connected to alleged UFO secrecy operations have reportedly died or disappeared under suspicious circumstances before speaking publicly.

A new tranche of “UFO files” has just been released from Washington, ranging from historical documents and space-era transcripts to recent military ISR cases from the 2020s. As expected, however, there is little genuinely new to see, and some of the material has already been public for years. And most of the released videos show little more than grainy dots moving through the sky. 
While Apollo-era images, such as the photograph catalogued AS12-49-7278, allegedly showing a flashing blue object, are widely explained as cosmic ray interference causing internal reflections within the Hasselblad camera system. 
Taken together, the newly released UFO files amount to little more than a nothingburger. The truly significant UFO material, many believe, remains hidden from the public. 
As Richard Dolan stated in a 2018 interview, the UFO subject has long been shaped by systems of control, disinformation, and selective reporting connected to the national security state. Tracing this dynamic from the era of Operation Mockingbird through Cold War media manipulation and into today’s digital information landscape suggests that credible UFO-related information has often been suppressed at the national level while simultaneously being ridiculed or sensationalized for public consumption. In this view, the phenomenon is carefully managed in a way that neutralizes its impact while allowing establishment narratives to maintain control. 

During an interview with podcaster Brian Tyler Cohen released last Saturday (February 14), former president Barack Obama didn’t shy away from the question, when asked whether extraterrestrials exist, he replied simply, “They’re real, but I haven’t seen them.” 
Donald Trump responded to Obama’s comments by suggesting the former president may have revealed classified information, saying Obama “gave classified information — he’s not supposed to be doing that. He made a big mistake.” 
Trump later wrote on his social media platform Truth Social that, due to the tremendous public interest, he would direct the Secretary of War and other relevant departments and agencies to begin identifying and releasing government files related to alien and extraterrestrial life, unidentified aerial phenomena (UAP), and UFOs. 
Concerns about secrecy intensified when a massive public archive from The Black Vault, run by researcher and ufologist John Greenewald Jr., reportedly containing 3.8 million declassified U.S. government files, vanished just one day after Trump ordered the release of all UFO-related documents. 
Critics, however, claim the move to release all files tied to UFOs and extraterrestrial contact is merely a distraction from other political controversies.

This story is really power, secrecy, and what history tells us about how difficult it really is to break through the system. 
In the end, many believe it may be the same old story, with little, if anything, about aliens truly being revealed… but who knows?
